“I Won’t Let Go” is about holding on to someone, even when you’re not sure if they feel the same.
It’s about that kind of love where you’d rather risk getting hurt than walk away wondering what could’ve been.
The song came together around a real feeling I had — about a girl I couldn’t fully move on from.
Even if I tried, even if we were distant, even if I didn’t understand why she had this pull over me…
She was still in my head. Still under my skin. Still someone I didn’t want to let go of.
I wrote the track with that push-pull in mind — the lyrics talk about doubt, ego, distance… but also hope.
There’s this longing to go back to a place where things made sense. A place that feels like home.
And even if I didn’t know where we were going, I just knew I didn’t want to lose her.
“When it’s dark I will show you the light / When you feel like you’re lost, know that I won’t let go” —
That chorus became the heart of the song. Simple words, but heavy meaning.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being there.
But the making of the song? That was a whole journey on its own.
At the time, things were slowing down in the studio world.
Sessions with other writers and producers started drying up — unless you had the budget.
People wanted upfront payments instead of working on percentages, so I did what I had to do:
I locked myself in my own studio and started building something solo.
I found this instrumental from a YouTube producer, and as soon as I started playing around with it, the topline ideas started flowing.
They came fast and naturally — and I knew right away, this one mattered.
I kept refining the toplines until they felt just right, then built the lyrics on top, recorded the final takes, stacked the harmonies, laid down the adlibs… and mixed it all on my own.
But even after all that — the song sat on a shelf for nearly two years.
My manager really liked it, but he wanted me to hold onto it.
He thought maybe something even stronger would come — that this track might be better as an album cut.
But eventually, I got tired of waiting.
So I made the call.
Found someone on Fiverr to master the song. Got another guy to design the artwork.
And once everything was ready — I packaged it up and dropped it.
This track… it’s personal.
It’s the one I’ve put the most of myself into. From the lyrics to the vocals to every step of the process — it’s mine.
And even after all this time, it’s still the one I’m the most proud of.
Verse
Maybe I
I’m a fool
Thinking I’ll be loved by you
I guess I’ll just wait and see till time reveals the truth
Take my hand
Don’t look down
Even though you have your doubts
We could be wrong but we don’t know till we find out
Pre chorus
And I don’t know where we’re going
(And I don’t know)
But there’s a place that I know
(That I know)
A place where you start to love me
So can we go there cuz I wanna go home
Chorus
When it’s dark I will show you the light
When you feel like you’re lost, know that I
Won’t let go, go
Won’t let go, go
Verse 2
Yeah I’ve tried
(Yeah I’ve tried)
Moving on
(Moving on)
But you make my ego numb
Want a taste of your love even though it means I’ll burn my tongue
No I don’t
(No I don’t)
Understand
(Understand)
You got magic in your hands
Cuz even though we are far apart, you’re stuck inside my head
(Ohhh)
Pre chorus
And I don’t know where we’re going
(And I don’t know)
But there’s a place that I know
(That I know)
A place where you start to love me
So can we go there cuz I wanna go home
Chorus
When it’s dark I will show you the light
When you feel like you’re lost, know that I
Won’t let go, go
Won’t let go, go
Bridge
I’d never
I’d never
I’m never gonna let you go
I’d never
I’d never
I’m never gonna let you go
Soft chorus
When it’s dark I will show you the light
When you feel like you’re lost, know that I
Won’t let go, go
Won’t let go, go
(Ohhh)
Last chorus
When it’s dark I will show you the light
When you feel like you’re lost, know that I
Won’t let go, go
(No I will never let go)
Won’t let go, go
(No I’ll never let go)
I won’t let go
Music has always been a way for me to make sense of things I couldn’t put into words. I write about real emotions, personal moments, and the things we all go through but don’t always talk about. My style leans toward emotional pop ballads, often stripped down and honest, with a focus on storytelling.
I’m not trying to be perfect — just real. If someone out there feels a little less alone because of something I made, then it’s all worth it.”
